About

For all-intensive purposes, my name’s Jay Dubberly, and I’m twenty-three years old. I’m currently getting my MFA in Screenwriting from Goddard College, after which I plan on pursuing my PhD in Film Studies. I love film, especially animated film. I’m currently working on an animated film called Elijah & the Octopus as my thesis for grad school.

50 Favorite Films, 50 Favorite Animated Films

(^not updated since 10/12)

I really like bandannas, bananas, and bad puns.

This blog is meant mostly for me, as a means of collecting all of my thoughts on film in one place. The reviews are short and basic - because most people won’t stop and read something longer than 200 words.

Break Down of Rating Scale:

0.0
= I outright refuse to see this film.

0.1-4.9
= I legitimately disliked the movie, and never want to see it again.

5.0-6.4
= Didn’t hate the film, but found very little worth in it.

6.5-7.9
= I enjoyed watching it, but it had some glaring flaws that prohibit it from being a personal favorite.

8.0-8.8
=  A damn good film. I would buy it (and probably already have) and recommend it to anyone.

8.9-9.4
= approaching perfection. I love these films, but there’s always one problem with it.

9.5-9.9
= perfect for what it is. An all-time great in my opinion.

10.0
= Sunset Blvd., Les Triplettes de Belleville, No Country for Old Men
