To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) - dir. Robert Mulligan

Harper Lee’s novel, to Kill a Mockingbird was an instant classic for all the right reasons. It’s got great morals, terrific characters, and a way of making the ignorant feel innocent.

Robert Mulligan’s silver-screen adaptation is… pretty darn good. But the most beautiful aspects of Lee’s text are only fit for the page. I don’t think the group behind Mockingbird could have made a better movie… but you should just read the book instead.
