Three Films to Watch: 1990

Edward Scissorhands - dir. Tim Burton - fairy tale, black comedy
Dreams - dir. Akira Kurosawa - Noh drama, anthology film
Miller’s Crossing - dir. Joel Coen, writ. Ethan Coen - gangster film

Tim Burton’s best Tim Burton film. The closest we’d get to a Kurosawa audiobiopic, and the GREATEST GANGSTER FILM OF ALL TIME. That’s right. Miller’s Crossing beats out The Godfather III and GoodFellas for a spot on this list. It’s a Coen Brothers film through and through, but it tells such a beautiful story.

Miller’s Crossing is my favorite script of all time, check it out here.
